Originally trained as a holistic therapist and growing and evolving my practice from there, I have worked with people therapeutically now for over eighteen years, including for the last several years working psychotherapeutically as a relational integrative therapist.
Through my work and through experiences in my personal life, I have become fascinated by people and the different ways we find of relating to each other. I recognise the power of having good, supportive relationships as being one of the central keys to our success and happiness as individuals.
I have also developed a deep interest in stories and the power they have to influence how we live our lives. I enjoy exploring with people the stories we create, to help us make sense and meaning of our interactions with others and the world, and the things we experience in our lives that lead us to live out certain life narratives. I find deep joy in helping people transform their lives, by supporting them to re-imagine the stories they hold which may be limiting them.
I bring both of these passions to all of the work I do with people, be that working online, in person, or in my self-guided offerings as well.
Who am I as a real life person?
I’m a fairly straight talking Northerner, who appreciates some gentle humour in life. I’m a mother, partner and friend and these relationships are highly important to me. I love being in the outdoors and spend as much time as I can engaging in activities which connect me with the natural world, so you’ll often find me out walking in the hills or messing about in/on the river. And, I love nothing more than sharing these experiences with others.
I’m a bit of a foody and I also have an intense curiosity about life which can lead me to nerd out a little about bizarre topics like fungi or quantum physics (not that I profess to fully understand either).
Most importantly for me, living an authentic life is something which I prize highly, so I endeavour, as much as I can, to walk my talk.
